I’m so excited to share this beautiful wedding with you today!
It’s been a long while since I have photographed a friend’s wedding. Years ago I decided it was too tricky to enjoy being a guest and photograph the day with the love, energy and commitment that I pour into each wedding that I shoot. But with my friends Kara and Tim, I was secretly hoping that they would ask me, as I just couldn’t quite picture not shooting their day. If you’ve followed my blog for a while you’ll know that Kara and I have worked together on lots of food & lifestyle shoots over the last few years and are also really great friends. When Kara is not too busy with Travelling Wares, we travel between Brisbane and Melbourne a few times a year to stay in touch. I just love Kara’s energy, her contagious laugh and her unique, beautiful style. Two of the warmest and most wonderful people I know, Kara and Tim embrace all the good things in life, cherish their families & friendships and their wedding was a wonderful combination of all of those things!
Inviting us to share a very special place with them, we gathered at Spicers Peak Lodge, high on the Scenic Rim in South East Queensland for their wedding. Kara’s utterly gorgeous styling, combined with their shared love of fine food and wine were the perfect recipe for an unforgettable wedding day. Marrying in a golden field, under a beaming winter sun and celebrating that union with a delicious al fresco feast was nothing short of perfect. When the sun set, and what a sunset it was, we gathered by the fire, drank beautiful Logan wines and danced til midnight to a fantastic folk band.
I’ll let the pictures tell the story from here on. A story of beautiful love, an amazing place and the gathering of some very special people. Congratulations my friends, Kara and Tim x
